Firstly I would like to say how sorry my husband and I were to hear that your Father has passed on. He was a lovely man and all EODS’ members were fortunate to have known him, although relatively briefly, and had the pleasure of his company and experience. On the set of Hello Dolly he spent time supposedly playing chess with my husband, but I think there was more chatting than chess playing! The part of Rudolf was excellently executed, giving us his truly theatrical side. On the dramatic side, he made quite an impression with his directing which unfortunately was cut short by his ill health. I can remember him saying I can contribute a lot to EODS, but unfortunately time ran out. Margaret - Membership Secretary Here are some messages from members. 'It was with sadness that I heard of Michael's passing. Although his membership of our society was short he certainly made his mark by appearing in 'Hello Dolly' and being so supportive of our Drama Section. We were very fortunate having such experience of theatre that he possessed passed on for our benefit. A really charming man who will be missed who I feel privileged to have known. Pam' 'I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Michael Elliott and although I did not know him personally, would add my condolences to his family on behalf of the Society. Michael Staff, President’ 'Sorry to hear about Michael Elliott. It wad a pleasure to share the stage with him in the waiter's gallop in Hello Dolly. Pam Cross’ 'How very, very sad! He was very frail when we last saw him, poor man. Thankyou for telling us, and could you please pass on my condolences, as I very much appreciated being in that wonderful play Swan Song which he wanted to direct and asked me to perform in, which was a great joy. I feel I owe him for that! Best wishes Ros x
