Thoughts, memories, thanks and love - I got the the sad news of Michael's passing and went to see mum - Pam Rose. Unfortunately Pam is not well and hardly able to express herself these days. But i know she cared deeply for Michael, as a friend as well as a colleague. Also, Mike stepped up tremendously when she lost David and also organised a very special event for mum to get together with their drama friends, before she left for Australia about 5 years ago. We remain very grateful for his generosity and love. I can't relay any stories from Pam unfortunately - although i know she'd have a few!! So, I'll share one of my memories of Michael instead, which was forged at a very young age - even before knew or played rugby with his boys. It was when I witnessed his performance - way after a regular bedtime, peering over the balcony's edge at the now eviscerated Royal Victoria Hall, during rehearsals for the old time music hall. My awe and respect for Mike was set watching his rendition of The Green Eye of the Little Yellow God. I stared in wonder as he recited this great monologue and grew steadily redder and redder with apoplectic energy - what a performance! Love and respect from Pam and Andrew Rose.
